Vows.

Forgiveness is the final form of love.

I forgive you for not loving me.

I’m putting my heart away so you can be free. Just promise me that you’ll shine. Promise me that you’ll be happy. Promise me that she’s the one who will love you in ways that I can’t. Promise me that she’s the one who’s meant to paint a smile on your face. Promise me that you will grow with her. Promise me that she’s the one who won’t make you feel alone. Promise me that you won’t need me anymore.

Please.

I’m letting you go. You’re free now. So, please… release me. I want to take a second breath and start living again. I want to take my life back for myself. I can’t live on like this. Remember that one night where you begged me not to leave you? You were crying, sobbing, shaking… I wondered for endless nights what would happen if I did. Now it doesn’t seem to matter anymore. I can feel you slipping through my fingers. You promised me that you’d never throw me away. In your own little way, you already have. I can’t put on my brave face for you anymore.

Promise me that you will be happy, and I will promise you that I’ll move on.

I promise that I’ll never look back.
